Canine Chiropractic: They will like it as much as you do!
It goes without saying that we all love our Canine companions and want to make sure they live a happy, healthy and comfortable life. Well did you know that just like us, dogs can easily develop misalignments in their spine and skeletal system. The theories and principles that guide chiropractic are nearly the same for animals as they are for humans. Chiropractic care is the best way to ensure your dog’s skeletal system is in alignment and not interfering with its enjoyment of daily life.
Since animals can’t always tell you when they are in pain, it is important to keep an eye out for certain things that point to a misalignment. Noticeable differences in their walking and/or running style or consistent favoring of one side or the other are both signs that there could be an issue. Older dogs, especially larger breeds, are prone to develop rear hip issues that can be helped with chiropractic care but older dogs aren’t the only ones that can benefit from care. Younger dogs benefit from chiropractic care as well; adjustments on younger dogs help to maintain and/or create proper alignment and symmetry. Just like us, establishing proper alignment and maintaining it at younger ages can drastically reduce the risk of skeletal issues down the road.
Here at Moore Chiropractic, Dr. Scott and Kallie love all animals (we all do!). Their two dogs, Rexford and Mia, benefit from regular adjustments and they strongly believe that chiropractic care enhances their lives. Dogs, cats and horses all share a very similar skeletal system that Dr. Scott has studied for years. He has experience adjusting dogs, cats, horses and even birds! Now, just like humans, chiropractic care may not be the solution for every dog’s’ issues. Dogs that have misalignments and are cooperative, chiropractic care can work wonderfully with traditional veterinary care to ensure your pet is as healthy and happy as possible.
